I Dreamed a Dream of You Last Night /Ayer soñé de ti,

I dreamed a dream of you last night…
I walked without a path, without a thought,
With no destination in mind...
Just pushing along.

Undefinable anguish moves me,
some unknown fear,
Searching through the crowds.
Not knowing yet for what..
Until I climbed that hill.

My sight,
arrested by some immovable glass lense
trapping my gaze.
Then, there you were,
a blurred image at first.
Slowly coming into focus.

There I find your face appearing,
Already focusing on mine.

Our arms encircle one another,
Neither wishing to let go.
Your eyes water
Mines overflow.

I open them again
to find everything’s disappeared
My awakened state separates us
As I exit from the darkness of Morpheus’ world
And once again, enter reality
Only to find myself
Thousands of miles away from you.

Ayer soñé de ti,
Mientras caminaba sin rumbo, sin camino,
Sin alguna destinación en mente
Solo empujando hacia adelante

Una angustia sin nombre me movía,
un temor desconocido
Buscando entre multitudes por algo ignoto
hasta subir ese cerro,

Mi mirada,
Es arrestada por un lente inmovible,
Atrapando mi vision.
...Luego, apareces.
Como una imagen borrosa
Lentamente enfocada

Ahí aparece tu rostro,
Ya enfocada en la mía.

En un abrazo que ninguno anhela concluir,
Tus ojos se humedecen
Mientras los míos se derraman.

Al abrir mis ojos, todo se esfuma
Mientras abandono el mundo de Morfeo
Y me encuentro en la realidad.
Miles de millas lejos de ti.

Advertisement Poem

Questo è un poema scritto per il mio corso italiane.
Scusa gli errori.
Il calore del sole

Senti freddo?
Venite fuori-
sotto il sole
i suoi raggi di fuoco
vi scalderanno.

Solo quando diciamo addio/Only when we say Goodbye/ Solo cuando decimos adios

Allora qui ho scritto una poesia inspirato per "Silenzio". Spero che voi piacete.

Solo Quando Diciamo Addio
Circondati ogni giorno di belleza
siamo accecati.
Non troviamo gioia in niente.
Prendiamo quello per scontato.
All’inizio, tutto è insignificante
Fino a quando lasciamo la nostra città natale.
Solo allora potremo sentire,
In quel momento, potremo vedere,
Potremo capire.
Ed eccoci, nastalgici e melinconici.
La lontananza apre gli occhi e il cuore
cuando lasciamo la nostra città natale.
Solo quando diciamo addio...

English translation...

Only when we say Goodbye. . .

Everyday surrounds us with innate beauty,
Yet we find ourselves blinded.
There is no joy in it.
We take it for granted.

At first,
everything is insignificant
until, we leave our Native City.
Only then,
can we truly feel...
In that moment,
can we truly  see,
truly understand.

And when we do,
Suddenly,
nostalgia and melancholy find us.
Distance opens the eyes and the heart
when we leave our Native City.

Only when we say goodbye. . .

Traducción en español

Solo cuando decimos adiós. . .

Rodeados cada dia por belleza,
somos cegados.
En nada encontramos la alegria.
Lo damos por hecho.

Al principio,
todo parece insignificante
hasta que dejamos nuestra ciudad nativa.
Hasta entonces,
podremos sentir profundamente,
En ese momento podremos ver,
podremos entender.

Y de repente,
nos encuentra  la nostalgia y la melancolía.
La distancia abre los ojos y el corazón
cuando dejamos nuestra ciudad nativa

Solo cuando decimos adios. . .

To the Heart that Grieves/ ¿Que se le dice al Corazón Afligido?

For the loss of what was never yours

What do you say to the heart that grieves?
When the one you’ve loved from the sidelines
has been taken, not once, but thrice
And when at last in their possession is a golden ring?

What do you say to this?
When your heart has already forgiven?
when memories of that person have finally been buried.
Buried so many times that you have lost the count.
Lost count of how many times you have tried,
Yet find them all resurfacing.

What do you say to this?
When others say “move on”, but half keep
giving you hope? When trying to find happiness with
someone else just doesn’t seem to work?
When you think you have accepted it, only to find
that you have fooled yourself, yet once again.
Discovering with one of their looks that everything
remains the same?

After years of remaining immovable in your mind,
when neither time nor distance has managed to remove
their impassive fixture.
After years of second-guessing
their looks and their actions. When you have tried nearly
Everything under the sun and still—
nothing.
What do you say to this?

What do you do when you find
yourself around them and
feel yourself unraveling?
When you see the proof in their left hand and know…
That there are no more excuses,
That there is no more hope
And that you can no longer be blind to the truth?

What do you say to this heart that grieves?

Where is that Girl? Ekfrasis 'Afghan Girl'

Hello Everyone, I am excited to share this piece with you because it has just been published this month of May 2015! I hope it it only the first of many. I hope you enjoy it.

Historical context: I wrote this piece for my creative writing class. It is a descriptive piece over an original work called "Afghan Girl" which is the photograph I have included below. We were expiramenting with show don't tell as well as giving our interpretation of it as well.
The historical background to the photograph is that this young girl pictured here is an Afghanistan refugee who fled with her siblings and her grandmother because of Russian bombings in her village where her parents were killed. They fled over land for a long time...I bellieve it was towards Pakistan. I try to explain some of her history through her appearance.

Where Is That Girl?
Ekphrasis on “Afghan Girl”
At a glance,
sits a child.
The second time
 a young girl?
No—
Her eyes,
They show much more.
Golden rings inside Her blazing orbs
Reflect violence of gunfire;
Surrounded by ocean green
drowning cries
of terror
in
Her soul.
Distrustfully—
they glare,
As if to say—
How do you dare?
like broken shards of glass;
piercing those
who come
too close.

To Her—
The white man behind the lens,
And the Russians
who made her an orphan,
bombed her home
And drove her out
are all one and the same.

Her torn shawl
like patterned sunsets—
closing a chapter in Her life,
silently echoing Her long and rough journey.

Her wild hair is an untamable mess
of tangled brown threads.

Screaming —
Of a sudden, and quick escape.

Her clay colored skin
—hardened by harsh winds
and arid suns
is a desolate tale,
of a land
with no more tears.

Where is the child?

Where is—
that girl?
